Re: restaurant dancing in the city
Sat, June 6, 2009 - 7:58 AMWell Dalia Carella and Tamalyn Dallal are having their hafla tonight at Jebon on St. Marks Place. I don't know if tickets are sold out or not (they might be), but that's where I'm going tonight.
There are a bunch of places that have regular nights of dancing and food. Horus Cafe on A, Tagines, Lafayette Bar and Grill, and a few others but I'm not sure off hand what's going on and who's dancing in all those places tonight.

Re: restaurant dancing in the city
Tue, June 9, 2009 - 8:46 PMMezzo Mezzo in Astoria on Saturday nights starting at about 9:00pm (but get there early to enjoy the food, it's pretty good). The band is just about one of the best Arabic/Turkish bands you're likely to see anywhere (Amir Naoum on derbekke and Elias Sarkar on violin and vocals, with bass guitar, oud and kanun). There is one featured dancer and it's usually somebody very good. It's a Greek restaurant and the clientele
are on the floor dancing all night (except of course during the dance show). It's a real good time with some real nice folks.
